Marshall Islands Flag - Durable Polyester National Flag

This flag is made from 100% polyester, which handles light outdoor display well. It's fine for weekends, events, and occasional flying. For continuous 24/7 outdoor display, expect the colors to start fading after 3–5 months of direct daily sun — polyester has less UV resistance than nylon. If you plan to fly it year-round outdoors, take it inside on windy or stormy days. The fabric is fade-resistant, which slows but does not stop UV degradation over time.

This flag is designed for standard pole display. It typically uses either grommets or a pole sleeve — check the product images for your specific mounting hardware. Grommets attach with clips or rope; sleeves slide directly over the pole. For indoor display, a desk stand with a ⅝ inch diameter dowel works with most smaller flag sizes.

The flag is printed using dye-sublimation, which bonds the ink directly into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. This is a single-sided flag — the design is printed on the front, and the reverse shows a mirror image that is slightly faded. This is standard for most display flags at this price point. If you need a fully opaque double-sided flag (for wall mounting where the back is visible), that option is available separately.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Use mild detergent — avoid bleach, which degrades the polyester fibers and strips the color. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat. High heat causes polyester to pill and shrink slightly. Do not wring — lay flat or hang to dry. If storing for a season, fold loosely rather than stuffing tightly, which causes permanent crease lines in the fabric.

The blue field represents the Pacific Ocean, while the two diagonal stripes (orange and white) broadening from the lower hoist to the upper fly represent the equator, with the orange stripe representing the Ralik Chain of islands and the white stripe representing the Ratak Chain. The orange color also represents bravery and wealth, while white represents peace. The 24-point white star represents the 24 electoral districts, with the four elongated points indicating the principal cultural centers of Majuro, Jaluit, Wotje, and Ebeye; the star's position represents the country's location just north of the equator.
