On a windy day, subtract about 10 mph from that limit — a 15 mph headwind at 55 mph equals 70 mph effective wind load on the flag. Remove before highway driving longer than 20–30 minutes.
Will this damage my car's paint or windows?
No — the mount is designed with paint safety in mind. Magnetic mounts use a felt or silicone pad between the magnet and your paint surface to prevent scratching. Window clips have a rubber or plastic edge that contacts glass, not metal. However, we recommend not leaving any car flag mount on for extended periods (weeks) in hot weather — heat can cause adhesive pads to leave residue. After each use, wipe the contact area with a clean cloth. If you notice any residue, remove it with a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth before it bakes into the surface.
