South Sudan Flag - Durable Polyester National Flag - 60x90 cm

This flag is available in 60x90 cm and 90x150 cm. The 90×150 cm (3×5 ft) size is the standard outdoor display size — it's what you typically see on a 5–6 ft residential flagpole and large enough to read clearly from the street. The 60×90 cm (2×3 ft) size works well on a shorter 4 ft pole, mounted on a wall bracket, or for indoor display on a desk stand. If you're flying it outdoors next to other flags, match sizes — a 3×5 ft next to a 4×6 ft looks mismatched.

This flag is made from 100% polyester, which handles light outdoor display well. It's fine for weekends, events, and occasional flying. For continuous 24/7 outdoor display, expect the colors to start fading after 3–5 months of direct daily sun — polyester has less UV resistance than nylon. If you plan to fly it year-round outdoors, take it inside on windy or stormy days. The fabric is fade-resistant, which slows but does not stop UV degradation over time.

This flag has two brass grommets on the left (header) side — one near the top corner and one near the bottom corner. Standard flagpole clips attach directly to these. For a wall mount, use two screw hooks spaced to match the grommet distance. The grommets are reinforced with a canvas header strip so they won't pull through with normal use. If attaching with rope, use a bowline knot — it holds tension without slipping and doesn't damage the grommet.

The flag is printed using dye-sublimation, which bonds the ink directly into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. This is a single-sided flag — the design is printed on the front, and the reverse shows a mirror image that is slightly faded. This is standard for most display flags at this price point. If you need a fully opaque double-sided flag (for wall mounting where the back is visible), that option is available separately.

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Use mild detergent — avoid bleach, which degrades the polyester fibers and strips the color. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat. High heat causes polyester to pill and shrink slightly. Do not wring — lay flat or hang to dry. If storing for a season, fold loosely rather than stuffing tightly, which causes permanent crease lines in the fabric.

The three horizontal stripes represent the people (black), the blood shed for freedom (red), and the land (green). The white fimbriations represent peace. The blue triangle on the hoist represents the waters of the Nile River, which is vital to the country. The yellow star in the triangle represents the unity of the states of South Sudan and guidance toward a brighter future. The flag was based on the Sudan People's Liberation Movement flag and adopted upon independence from Sudan in 2011, making it one of the newest national flags.
