Interesting Fact: A symbol of self-government, the flag of Antigua and Barbuda was officially recognized on 27 February 1967. A national-level competition was conducted to design the flag wherein over 600 local people participated and came up with a variety of designs. The winner was a nationally well-known sculptor and artist Sir Reginald Samuel.
